Hello.
How is life treating you all? Me... I'm maintaining just
making the best of this situation. Very humid and hot and of course
uncomfortable. But it is what it is. Just grateful to be alive and healthy. I
stay hydrated always especially at work where we slave eight hours or so for
roughly 50¢ per day. I work in a warehouse loading and unloading trucks,
cleaning, filling bottles, organizing, filling orders for the kitchen and
bootcamp while dealing with verbal abuse, etc. Not enough money to buy hygiene
items and food, but of course it could be much worse.
.... I'll be here a year in under two months with a few more
calendars to go. I do realize time doesn't stop for nobody. Even here in prison
that's why I keep myself occupied each and every day. I prefer to spend my time
wisely humbling myself, learning, growing while striving to live a much better
life, something meaningful. A good thing about my job is that I'm out of my
cell and it's a good, extreme workout. I enjoy working out. It reduces stress,
tensions, anger, and frustration. I've gained roughly 30 pounds of muscle and
look good. My goal is to gain 20 more pounds of lean muscle. My health is very
important nowadays. I want to live a very long, healthy and fruitful life.
My nickname is Chance. I'm 35, 6'2", weigh 192 lbs.,
dark skinned, African American born and raised in Chicago. I'm kind, loyal,
unique, funny, spontaneous, adventurous, fun, outgoing, honest, respectful,
smart, intelligent, sweet, considerate, passionate, affectionate,
well-mannered, have a keen sense of humor. My hobbies are drawing, writing,
poetry, reading, weight lifting, listening to all kinds of music, playing
chess, etc. When I was free I enjoyed
fishing, auto mechanics, carpentry, travel, playing sports, etc.
I have one brother and four sisters, but one passed away a
few years ago. I am the youngest.
I strongly believe life is what you make of it. Also with
God anything is possible. I like to watch "Shark Tank," "The
Profit," "Love it or List it," "Flipping Houses,"
"Naked and Afraid," Discovery and History channels, "Street
Outlaws," and "Dr. Phil."
A quote I like is "If you expect nothing from anybody,
you're never disappointed." My family doesn't write or support me in any
way and it hurts, but not as bad anymore. Especially realizing I did this to
myself, and nobody owes me anything at all. Another quote I like is
"Encouragement is the oxygen of the soul." Also "What we weave
in life will be worn in eternity."
My prayer request is just to ask God to guide me in the
right path, forgive me for my sins and shortcomings and protect my family...
Trying to combat loneliness is or seems impossible cause i
get lonely. Maybe I just try to ignore it and live in reality, which means what
can I do about it. I just deal with it and focus on other things. I am human
and want to feel loved, important, and appreciated.
I'm reading "You Can; You Will" by Joel Osteen.
It's really a winner for real. I read it daily. I am a Christian and go to
service each Sunday. I enjoy the real, sincere fellowship, motivation, and the
true meaning behind God's Word. It gives me hope and helps me to endure through
the trials and tribulations.
Hope to hear from someone. Take care and be safe.
Sincerely,
Chance
